Jayni Gudka is a Social Entrepreneur whose work centres around building synergies between people who have experienced marginalisation, and the tourism, events and heritage industries. Jayni serves as CEO at Unseen Tours, a multi-award-winning social enterprise that provides opportunities for people affected by homelessness to curate and lead walking tours of London. She also founded Sama Sama International in 2023 following a research project where she designed a toolkit for co-creating walking tours with marginalised communities most ethically and responsibly, to help more disadvantaged communities set up similar initiatives around the world. Most recently, she has also been working with survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery, helping them do the same.

We’re incredibly touched to have our work recognised through the awards, and hope that it will enable us to increase the social impact that we’re able to create – not just in London, but with marginalised communities in many different parts of the world. It’s been such an honour to be listed alongside so many organisations contributing to the changes that the tourism sector needs to see in the way that they work towards achieving equity in all its forms. The awards have given us new platforms to share our work and amplify the stories and experiences of our tour guides which are typically excluded from the tourism sector, whilst also allowing us to learn from the incredible work being done at other organisations. This is why we’d wholeheartedly encourage organisations and individuals to apply – from large multi-national organisations to small social enterprises like ours – there’s so much to learn and share from best practices happening in all these organisations, and it would be wonderful to celebrate the organisations that are doing this well.
