In 2023, Carolyn was named one of the most influential women in travel by TravelPulse for her advocacy for women over 50 in travel. As the CEO and Editor of JourneyWoman, she leads JourneyWoman’s team of 16 writers and a global community of over 100,000 women. Founded in 1994, JourneyWoman celebrates women’s wisdom and the joy of discovery that purposeful travel brings. Carolyn also chairs the JourneyWoman Women’s Advisory Council, the JourneyWoman Women’s Speaker’s Bureau and the JourneyWoman Awards for Women Over 50. She is the chair of the Canadian chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), a member of Women’s Travel Leaders and a Herald for the Transformational Travel Council (TTC).

JourneyWoman and Women in Travel CIC share a common understanding that women, as the most influential travellers, can help create a more diverse and inclusive world. We are part of a shared movement that is inspiring women to step into their power, understanding that we have an important role to play both as consumers of travel and also as leaders, activists and change makers.
