OPTION 1 - SOUTH COAST

Date: Saturday 25th January

Visit two magnificent waterfalls –Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss, as well as the magnificent Sólheimajökull glacier in this tour of the south coast. Afterward a break for lunch, we’ll take a walk along the black sand beach near Vik. Finish the tour by visiting three small businesses, all owned and run by local Icelandic women: a sheep farm and wool tannery, when the wool is still processed using traditional methods; a mini mill and yarn store, where they spin naturally-coloured yarn from their own sheep; and a horse farm where you’ll have the chance to meet the famous Icelandic horses.

OPTION 2 - SNAEFELLSNESI PENINSULA

Saturday 25th January

This tour takes us down to the southern part of the peninsula – Budir, Djupalonssandur and Arnarstapi. Beginning with a white beach and a little black church at Budir, we then take a stroll along the dramatic coastal cliffs at Arnarstapi, and visit Djupalonssandur, an arched pebble bay surrounded with magical rock formations.

For lunch, we’ll stop at a local farm to enjoy a home-cooked meal from our host, who will also share her knowledge and passion for Icelandic horses.
