The IWTTF Awards were launched in 2023 to celebrate women, gender-diverse individuals and companies/organisations that are making an impact in the travel tourism and hospitality industry through their work and commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in industry.
The IWTTF Awards were created by Women in Travel CIC to provide role-models and share good practices with the view to improve DEI in industry, elevating individuals as well as organisations that are striving to create a more equitable and inclusive industry, whether locally, nationally or internationally.

Nominations & Timeline 2023
- Nominations open 31 MARCH and close 21 MAY 2023 (at midnight)
- Judging will take place between 22 May and 9 June
- Finalists will be announced week of 12 June
- Winners will be unveiled at the Awards Ceremony taking place on 21 June at Expedia HO in London
You can submit a nomination for yourself or someone you know, be it an individual or an organisation. You can submit for more than one categories, if appropriate, with different nominations forms
The nomination form is the same for every category. The Nominee is however required to specify the category they are submitting for and importantly address 3 specific criteria as part of their ‘reasons to nominate’.
Judges and Judging Process
Judges will award nominees based on criterias which reflect:
- The quality of the nomination received for that particular nominee
- How strongly the nomination relates to the award category an individual/the organisation has been nominated for
- Additional evidence provided by the nominee themselves.
Judges are senior professionals in industry selected for their expertise, standing and commitment to DEI in industry.

DEI Champions
INDIVIDUAL
This award honours those INDIVIDUALS who further the cause of DEI by putting these ideas into practice within their own organisations and beyond. DEI CHAMPIONS are individuals who lead the charge for inclusion and belonging in the workplace whether they are formally tasked with it or rather because they are passionate about making the industry and their workplace a better environment for everyone. These inspirational leaders advocate for change and educate those they work with about DEI issues, be it for their colleagues, communities or customers.
COMPANY
This award honours those COMPANIES that further the cause of DEI by moving from talk to action within their own organisation and beyond into the broader industry. These companies are at the forefront of change in diversity, inclusion and belonging in their workplace and equally in industry by role-modelling what inclusive workplaces and campaigns look like. These inspirational companies advocate for change and educate those they work with about DEI issues be it for their colleagues, communities or customers.
Woman Leader
CORPORATE LEADER
This award honours a CORPORATE WOMAN who through her leadership and initiative has risen to a position of influence and used it to advocate for, support, promote and progress all women in her workplace and the broader industry. This leader will demonstrate dedication and continuing commitment to greater gender diversity and inclusion and will act as a role model and mentor to the younger generation of women in the company/workforce.
FEMALE ENTREPRENEUR
This award honours a woman who runs her own business and through her leadership and initiative has risen to a position of influence and used it to advocate for, support, promote and progress all women in her network and the broader industry. This leader will demonstrate dedication and continuing commitment to greater gender diversity and inclusion and will inspire as well as act as a role model and mentor to the younger generation of women and other entrepreneurs.
Talent & Recruitment
INDIVIDUAL DIVERSE TALENT RECRUITER
This award honours an individual that has gone above and beyond to hire diversely in their team, influencing the workplace and effecting change in hiring practices. Whether they work as part of an HR and recruitment team or they manage a team or department, this individual can show consistent and substantial effort in trying to recruit outside the obvious channels, reaching out to a much wider pool / community to secure success in representing all individuals in society.
COMPANY – BEST DEI T&R INITIATIVE
This award honours a company that has designed and executed an effective and forward thinking talent management and recruitment initiative(s) aimed at addressing current challenges to fill roles and skills shortages by harnessing the power of diversity and inclusion. The company will have recruited talent outside the obvious channels, reaching out to a much wider pool / community to secure success in representing all individuals in society.
Allyship
INDIVIDUAL
This award honours an individual who has consistently shown commitment to acting as ally to women and other diverse individuals within their organisations and industry. This individual will have gone over and above to actively support, advocate for and promote and progress all women and other diverse individuals in their workplace / industry, fostering a culture of inclusion and an environment in which women and diverse individuals feel they can progress and shine.
COMPANY
This award honours a COMPANY that has put in place strategies and programmes leading it to be recognised as ALLY to women and other diverse groups within their organisations, the broader industry but also communities and customers. This company will be at the forefront of industry thinking when it comes to ALLYSHIP and DEI and will be able to share practical examples of allyship initiatives it has put in place over the last 12-24 months.
